The ask
Select a portrait of someone and manipulate the image in three distinct ways using Photoshop.

The image I chose to manipulate is of Billie Eilish, one of my favorite musicians. She has a monumental influence on pop culture and is a 9-time Grammy Award winner.
To complete this project, I scoured YouTube to find photo manipulation effects that I found interesting and challenging. I decided on a crumpled paper effect, xerox copy effect, and money effect.
I watched these videos multiple times to understand the instructions and referred back to them when I missed a step. My biggest challenge while completing this project was deciding what to do when a step they completed did not look the same when I did it. To solve this, I had to trust my creative vision and experiment with effects I was familiar with to achieve a satisfying look.
takeaway
Photoshop is a powerful tool, and this project reflected how far I have come as a creative. Quality work takes time, and I will always be committed to achieving that.
the skills
To achieve these effects, an extensive knowledge of Photoshop and creative problem-solving is required. With it, I was comfortable following the instructions, and when I was not pleased with something, I was able to venture off on my own to achieve the look I wanted.
